ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Review: Mysteries of the Rosary (formed.org)

Are you drawn to the Rosary but uncertain where to begin? Do you seek to reconcile the Church’s veneration of Mary with the teachings of Scripture? Or perhaps you want to embark on a virtual pilgrimage through the Holy Land, Rome, or Lourdes?

If so, the Mysteries of the Rosary series, created and presented by Mark Hartfiel, will satisfy many. This lovingly crafted series guides viewers through each set of Mysteries—Glorious, Joyful, and Sorrowful (with the Luminous Mysteries currently in production)—across seven episodes.

Each episode follows a consistent structure: Mark introduces the mystery, grounding it in the holy filming location and connecting it with relevant Bible verses. His use of Bible readings draw viewers closer to Jesus, Mary, and the disciples, placing us in their inner circle. Next, scholarly insights deepen the theological understanding, while heartfelt testimonies from individuals who have experienced Mary’s intercession add a layer of authentic, exuberant faith.

Mark’s passion for the project is palpable, radiating through the screen. He is joined by a diverse cast of academics, priests, nuns, and laypeople, each offering unique reflections on the Mysteries or the role of Mary in their lives. What stands out most is the joy with which they speak of her— this was the most inspiring part for me.

The Mysteries of the Rosary series is available on formed.org, beginning with The Joyful Mysteries. For those seeking a deeper connection to the Rosary, this series is a must-watch.
