The Great Adventure Bible Timeline (May 2025 – May 2026)
The Great Adventure Bible Timeline program with parishioners from St Timothy and St Luke the Evangelist has been both spiritually enriching and transformative for me.
Although I have been a Catholic for over 40 years and entered the Church through RCIA in 1985, the Bible often remained a mystery to me. I struggled to understand the relevance of the Old Testament and how Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Church’s Magisterium work together to guide our faith.
Through participating in The Great Adventure Bible study, Scripture has come alive. I began to see the connections between the Old and New Testaments, the meaning of biblical signs and symbols, and God’s unfolding plan of salvation throughout history. Daily reading of God’s Word has deepened my personal relationship with Jesus Christ as my friend, Saviour, and Lord, while strengthening my love for the Catholic Church and her teachings.
The program has also enriched my parish life through new friendships and shared faith journeys. Witnessing God’s work in the lives of others has strengthened my trust in His providence and inspired me to serve more generously despite my own weaknesses. Above all, I have become more aware of God’s mercy, forgiveness, and constant call to conversion.

For many years, I was a “pew Catholic,” trying to make sense of homilies, the liturgy, and the traditions of the Church, while longing to deepen my faith. A Transformative Journey of Faith and Fellowship
Attending the Bible Timeline study has been one of the most enriching experiences of my faith journey. I am deeply grateful to Fr Alex Chow for introducing this program and to Chris and Anne Lim for their warm, dedicated, and inspiring leadership. Their hospitality created a welcoming community where learning, discussion, and fellowship flourished.
Through this study, I formed meaningful friendships in Christ and gained a much deeper understanding of God’s plan of salvation. One of its greatest blessings has been experiencing the Mass in a new way. The Scripture readings have become more familiar and meaningful as I now see how they fit within the larger story of salvation history.

Participating in The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation was a truly enriching experience that deepened my understanding of Sacred Scripture, the Catholic faith, and God’s plan of salvation. The course transformed the way I read the Bible, helping me see how each book fits within the broader story of salvation history and how the Old Testament is fulfilled in the New. It also deepened my appreciation of the sacraments, the prayers and rituals of the Mass, and challenged me to reflect more deeply on how I live my faith each day. The fortnightly format of readings, reflection questions, small-group discussions, and Jeff Cavins’ engaging presentations made Scripture come alive.
